Overview
The Navitas NT2SD is a Busbar Mounted Type 2 Surge Protective Device designed specifically for modern single phase consumer units. Protecting electrical installations and connected equipment against transient overvoltages caused by lightning activity and switching events, it provides dependable surge protection whilst significantly simplifying installation.
Unlike traditional wired SPDs, the NT2SD mounts directly onto the consumer unit busbar using a standard cage clamp connection. Neutral and earth conductors are supplied for termination into the corresponding bars, while every device also includes a dedicated live conductor. This gives installers the flexibility to either mount the SPD directly onto the busbar or connect it via a dedicated MCB if overcurrent protection is preferred. Rather than dictating one installation method, the NT2SD has been engineered to support both.
Manufactured to BS EN 61643-11, the NT2SD features a patented design, hybrid surge protection technology and is individually tested before undergoing a comprehensive 37 point quality control inspection, ensuring dependable long term performance.
